The Cobar Basin Projects
The Cobar Basin has been a prolific region for high-grade minerals exploration with a 150-year history of mineral discoveries.
Mineralisation in the Cobar Basin is typically a volcanic massive sulphide (VMS) style of deposit containing high grade base metals, such as zinc, lead and copper as well as precious metals including gold and silver.
The region’s deposits are capable of supporting long-life mining projects with the VMS lenses frequently clustering and stacking.
Mining projects within the Cobar Basin target these stacked and clustered formations which typically produce narrow seams of high-grade material that also extend at significant depths.
Peel Mining holds a number of projects in the Cobar Basin, including:
Wagga Tank – Southern Nights
A major zinc-rich discovery which is the Company’s primary focus
Mallee Bull & May Day
An advanced copper-polymetallic deposit
Wirlong
A 50:50 JV with the Japanese Government (JOGMEC)
Other Cobar Assets
A series of additional prospective projects within the basin
